John Olav Tande has been a member of the World Wide Wind Advisory Board since 2022.

John Olav is Chief Scientist and Research Manager at SINTEF Energi AS, in addition to being the Director of NorthWind, which is funded by the Research Council of Norway and industry partners. The ambition of NorthWind is to contribute to a profitable Norwegian export industry in offshore wind and create green jobs, in a way that respects both nature and people.

John Olav has more than 20 years experience within the field of wind energy research and has been the Project Manager of a substantial number of projects related to offshore wind. He has 30 + peer reviewed articles, serves as steering committee memeber and organizes the Industry meets Science workshops, a platform for enhanced communication between academia and industry within offshore wind energy.

John Olav holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Power Engineering from NTNU, the Norwegian Technical University.
