Goodtech to deliver electrical, automation and cybersecurity systems for World Wide Wind's floating wind demonstrator.

Goodtech has secured an agreement with Norwegian offshore wind technology company World Wide Wind to develop the automation, electrical, power, digitalization, and cybersecurity architecture for its 1.2 MW CRAFT floating wind demonstrator. The agreement positions Goodtech as a key technology and systems integration partner in an important step towards the industrialization of World Wide Wind’s innovative floating offshore wind technology.

Goodtech will establish the technical infrastructure needed to operate the demonstrator safely and reliably, spanning automation, electrical and power systems, digitalisation, IT/OT architecture and cybersecurity. The solutions are designed to scale from the demonstrator to future commercial deployment.

Margrethe Hauge, CEO of Goodtech: "Goodtech has built a strong position in offshore wind, delivering solutions that keep assets stable, reliable and controllable. World Wide Wind's CRAFT concept takes a fundamentally different approach, and our role is to build the electrical, automation, digital and cybersecurity architecture that lets the demonstrator prove it under real operating conditions. This is exactly where our combination of engineering and industrial digitalisation creates value."

About CRAFT

World Wide Wind is developing CRAFT (Counter Rotating Axis Floating Tilted), a floating offshore wind concept combining a vertical-axis, counter-rotating turbine with a tilted floating configuration, designed for large-scale offshore deployment. The 1.2 MW demonstrator will validate key aspects of the technology under real operating conditions and generate data to support the development of larger commercial turbines.

Stian Valentin Knutsen, Founder and CEO of World Wide Wind: “Developing a new offshore wind technology requires more than an innovative turbine concept. It requires strong industrial partners with the expertise needed to transform that concept into a reliable, scalable and commercially deployable system. Goodtech's experience in automation, electrical systems, digitalisation, and cybersecurity is highly valuable to us at this stage.”
